PDF Version Download pdf

Birth rate is reported as the number of live births per 1,000 people in the total population.

Birth rate is recorded and followed in public health because it provides information that is helpful in planning for services that will be needed in our communities. Information about birth rate is useful in planning for health care and school needs for children, among others.
