Advocacy
Advocacy can improve birth outcomes by drawing attention of the individual, community, health providers and government to pregnancy related issues. Advocacy activities can assist in sparking interest in the myriad of factors that contribute to healthy births.
LA Best Babies Network promotes the improvement of overall health and well being of women, pregnant women and children. The Network works in collaboration with other local agencies/organizations to increase awareness and support of perinatal and interconception issues among the elected policy makers. LA Best Babies Network is also interested in legislative issues related to the access and delivery of high quality health care for women and their families.
The Network's advocacy activities include:
- Work with local agencies and health organization on behalf of the Network advance initiatives with key elected officials and staff
- Develop and sustain collaborative relationships with other local agencies/organizations who track, analyze and disseminate information on key bills related to the Network ’s policy agenda
